Introduction

This advanced unit provides the student with the opportunity to apply strategic management and planning processes to a fisheries case-study. On the successful completion of this unit, students will be able to critically appraise issues for the management of a fishery under the principles of ecologically sustainable development, define fisheries management objectives, recommend fisheries management and compliance strategies, and prepare a fisheries management plan.
