Introduction
This unit exposes students to a detailed examination of the physiology of aquatic organisms, with an emphasis on fish and crustaceans. Development, growth, respiration, osmoregulation excretion, reproduction, endocrinology and sensory physiology are discussed in relation to the effects of natural and artificial environmental changes on physiological processes.

Learning Outcomes
- Understand the basis and interrelationship of aspects of respiration, digestion, metabolism, excretion, reproduction, endocrine function, and sensory function in aquatic animals.
- Advanced understanding of how different physico-chemical variables affect the physiology and growth of aquatic animals.
