On completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in University Preparation, you will be able to:
- negotiate the university environment confidently
- engage with academic information in a variety of contexts and formats
- interpret and evaluate knowledge from a variety of different perspectives
- reflect on and develop your capacity as a learner
- undertake further study, with credit into a Diploma of University Studies
Practical experience
Project and team-based learning is a key component of the Undergraduate Certificate in University Preparation. Students doing these units are encouraged to apply knowledge in community or home contexts (or their workplaces if applicable). Students are exposed to authentic and engaging learning experiences designed to develop their understanding of work, but also of study and community. Students are introduced to (i) different methods of and approaches to practice, (ii) issues such as values, ethics, empathy and leadership and (iii) the role of reflection and deliberative thinking in developing knowledge, skills, attitudes and aspirations.
