Academic Writing XAB021

The NUR02 availability of XAB021 Academic Writing is tailored to students undertaking the Nursing Foundation Studies pathway in the Diploma of University Studies. Students in other pathways should enrol in the Semester 1 or Semester 2 availability of this unit instead.

Introduction

In this unit you will develop your ability to communicate in written form in a university environment. You will gain the skills and develop strategies to plan and write academically. In particular, you will analyse assignment tasks, learn how to structure an essay, draw on your critical thinking skills, and synthesise multiple academic sources and reference these in-text.

Teaching Pattern

Semester delivery: 2-hour workshop once per week.

NSP Delivery: Workshops occur in Weeks 24, 27, 30, 32. Tutorials occur in Weeks 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34.
