Introduction

This unit will introduce the foundational biology of body systems, emphasising the relationship between structure and function. Principles of health assessment will be considered as the basis for understanding human development and the alterations in structure and function that occur with injury, illness and disease. You will examine the causes, prevalence and impact of common health conditions and consider the planning, implementation and evaluation of contemporary management strategies.
