Creatives communicate through a range of mediums but unfortunately writing often gets forgotten. The fact is, a poorly worded email, design pitch or social media posts can cost you clients.
This module focuses on investigating broad writing techniques to suit a variety of workplace requirements, to build confidence and clarity in your text. This includes interpersonal communication in email, social media, websites, technical writing and storytelling for interactive delivery. You will learn to write for target audiences and the importance of editing and grammar for meaning. You will also have a chance to build your skills in academic writing and referencing.
Practical Approaches to Learning at University College
The University College is committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in practical learning experiences. Every unit is therefore driven by at least one approach that is problem or project-based, or that involves work-integrated learning.
These activities allow you to develop discipline-specific skills, knowledge and behaviours, alongside a range of employability skills and professional attributes. Some of these include, for example, active inquiry, communication, social, cultural and ethical responsibility, planning and critical reflection.
