Richie Cyngler and Matt Warren

The TCotA AiR (Artist in Residence) program supports and extends professional practice activities across the School’s studio program, providing a fertile environment for artists to develop specific projects, whilst affording unique learning opportunities for students

Whilst developing their own projects, the AiRs (Artists in Residence) engage with students via a range of studio-based activities including: presentations, workshops, demonstrations, one-on-one discussions and group critiques.

This week’s Art Forum presentation introduces TCotA’s new AiRs, RICHIE CYNGLER and MATT WARREN

Richie Cyngler is an experimental electronic artist living in Hobart. He usually makes work comprising of sound and light and people, using free and open software, circuitry and sensors in the production of these works.

Matt Warren is a Hobart-based electronic media artist, musician, curator, radio presenter and writer. His art practice encompasses immersive electronic installation, single channel video and sound works. The works investigate memory, transcendence, liminal spaces and suspension of disbelief. His music and sound practice has a basis in both composition and improvisation.

In this special Art Forum Matt and Richie will share their practice and discuss their AiR projects for Semester 1, 2017.
