Anna Hickey-Moody is a Professor of Media and Communication at RMIT University, Australia, an Australian Research Council Future Fellow, 2017-2021 and Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow. She runs the CRiMP research laboratory (Creative Research Interventions in Methods and Practice) at RMIT and holds visiting professor positions at Columbia University (USA), Goldsmiths (London), and the Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). Anna will talk about her fieldwork with adults, children and their broader communities on the research themes of belonging, home, heritage and journey through the various methods of socially engaged arts practices, focus groups and interviews. Anna’s research considers the act of working with fabric as a social research method and texture as a form of non-verbal communication.
