In Trouble in Paradise Louise Allerton uses digital photography and video to create three pieces of art work focusing on the Cataract Gorge. During Louise's residency at the University of Tasmania, Inveresk, she has explored the landscape and environment in and around the immediate Launceston area. The exhibition investigates the constant cycle of tidal patterns, influx, swell and detritus. These elements in Louise Allerton artworks act as visual metaphors for generations of family secrets and intrigue that became apparent during her time in Tasmania.
Reality is changeable and malleable according to who is telling the story.
