Drawing without words presents the artwork by eight Tasmanian’s who all believe passionately in the value of life drawing to facilitate and assist the creative process. In an artworld increasingly dominated by the sciences, Drawing without words explores the artist as maker, user of charcoal, inks, pastels and crayon. Drawing without words displays the observational drawing and expressive mark-making necessary for studying and representing the human figure. The exhibition showcases the principles of life and figurative drawing in space, including composition, foreshortening, movement, structure, body volume and line.
