The 2017 HOBIENNALE (HB17) is an unprecedented new arts festival initiated by CONSTANCE ARI which will be presented in Hobart from 3-12th November 2017. HB17 will bring together a large group of exemplary artist-run initiatives (ARIs) from across Australia and New Zealand, with each curating an exhibition or event as part of the program. HB17 will occupy a range of existing galleries and unusual sites across Hobart, and will include critical and extensive public programs.

Constance ARI (formerly In-flight) has been running since 2003. Constance ARI is an off-site project-based initiative, who focuses on creating paid opportunities for emerging practitioners to develop and present innovative and experimental work in varied settings. Constance works to provide artists with critical support, resources and audience engagement to realise quality projects.

This special Art Forum introducing the 2017 HOBIENNALE will be presented by Grace Herbert. Grace is an artist and facilitator based in Hobart. She is a graduate of RMIT University and the University of Tasmania. Grace is on the board of Constance ARI, curator of HOBIENNALE and Co-founder and Director of Visual Bulk.

Arts Forum is a weekly series of free public lectures held at the School of Creative Arts, Hunter Street Campus, during the semester. The series provides a unique opportunity to hear local, national and international visiting artists, scholars and presenters from diverse sectors of the Creative Arts discuss their area of professional practice. All current students, prospective students, and members of the public are welcome.
