Launching her latest album Comes A Time" in this great venue, and joined by Sydney’s Paul Cutlan (saxes and flute), and Hobart's own - guitarist Glen Hodges, bassist Nick Haywood, and drummer Ted Vining, and special guest, DAVID NUTTALL, principal oboe with TSO, who is featured on this new album, you won't want to miss your chance to see this truly unique and versatile artist.

“…. standards alongside superbly written originals, all voiced by a superior singer.” Barry O’Sullivan, Jazz Australia

“Her latest album is a collection of high-spirited soulful songs, in the best ‘classic jazz’ tradition, the one that the singer/pianist knows all too well, and delivers with warmth, charm and perkiness.” Nik Fotakis,

“... an impressive demonstration of a multi-talented artistry that, as far as I know, is unique in Australian jazz. Sharny Russell attempts a lot – much more than most jazz musicians, and brings it all off exquisitely. In a sense she is Australia’s Diana Krall.” Eric Myers

Uniquely gifted, award winning pianist/vocalist/composer Sharny Russell is a jazz artist who is highly respected among her peers, and who has recorded with ABC. Sharny’s voice is as sweet and lyrical as it is commanding. Her style is fresh and original, and at the same time divinely musical and totally accessible to those new to the genre.

Based in Byron Bay, Sharny has had an extraordinary career as an educator, writer and musician. With multiple works published in The Australian Jazz Real Book and the Australian Hymn book, she has written over 160 songs and four musicals, and even completed a stint as music director on iconic Australian television show “Here’s Humphrey”.
