Join multi instrumentalist performer, composer, educator and Forestone endorsed artist Adam Simmons for a discussion on saxophone tone production and extended technique.  The workshop will focus on how best to develop a robust and individual tone as well as extended techniques that can aid in this development.

One of Australia’s finest jazz/art music saxophonists Adam is known for stretching the boundaries of modern jazz composition and performance, and infusing a sense of wonder and playfulness into musical art forms better known for their gravitas. He teaches at Melbourne University and is involved with various organisations including Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival (co-founder), Melbourne Jazz Co-operative (book-keeper), Australian Shakuhachi Society (publicity), Festival of Slow Music (founder/director) and recently finished his role as Lead Co-Artistic Director of Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.

Adam plays a Forestone RX red brass alto saxophone and an RX gold lacquer tenor saxophone.
This workshop is proudly sponsored by Forestone.  The range of Forestone instruments and accessories will be available for trial and purchase.
