Polyscias (Araliaceae)  (Not in the Student's Flora)
Both native and introduced populations of Polyscias occur in Tasmania. These are shrubs that grows in the understorey of wet or damp forests. The native populations are rare, and grow in wet forests in a few localities near the east coast. They may represent a new species or subspecies of Polyscias sambucifolia. They have toothed and lobed leaflets.

However, garden grown plants of mainland Australian provenance of Polyscias sambucifolia have become naturalised in places. The native populations may be described as a separate species or subspecies at some stage.
