| Scotch thistle
(Onopordum acanthium) is probably the most widespread and
abundant of the thistles. This erect, very hairy weed has large
spiny flower heads with purple flowers. Onopordum acaulon
only has rosette leaves, but otherwise resemble Scotch Thistle.
