Tasmania has
six native and one introduced species of Erigeron. The native
species are alpine or subalpine rosette species, ranging from the
moderate sized E. pappocromus to the tiny, E. trigonus
(which is commonly seen growing within cushion plants, and resembles
a single stem of Abrotanella). The introduced species, E.
karvinskianus (= E. mucronatus), is an erect, almost
woody species, that is found growing on old walls.
