This
worldwide family is represented in Tasmania by one introduced
species (L. sinuatum) and two closely related
native species, Limonium
australe and L. baudinii. They are both rare saltmarsh rosette species with
conspicuous inflorescences, ending in one-sided spike-like groups of flowers.
The most conspicuous parts of the inflorescences are the papery white
and persistent sepals. |
