The
introduced species, Anredera cordifolia or Madeira Vine, is
Tasmania's only member of Basellaceae. It is a garden escape in northern
Tasmania. This is a small shrub with twining stems. It has alternate,
ovate leaves about 2-7cm long. The individual flowers are small, but
occur in long, conspicuous axillary racemes.
