Hemichroa
pentandra is the only species of this genus in Tasmania. It is a
reasonably common native saltmarsh species in Tasmania. Its
distinctive features include the solitary 5-parted flowers in the
leaf axils, the fleshy, alternate leaves with concave upper
surfaces. The Student's Flora of Tasmania places it in the
Chenopodiaceae. |
