Hemichroa (Amaranthaceae) 3:576
Hemichroa pentandra is the only species of this genus in Tasmania. It is a reasonably common native saltmarsh species in Tasmania. Its distinctive features include the solitary 5-parted flowers in the leaf axils, the fleshy, alternate leaves with concave upper surfaces. The Student's Flora of Tasmania places it in the Chenopodiaceae.
