Muehlenbeckia
axillaris is a uncommon, native woody plant. It is a more or
less prostrate plant with wiry stems and relatively thick, almost
circular leaves about 3-8 mm long. It grows on moist, gravelly or
rocky places in open subalpine-alpine areas of the north. The
flowers are solitary or occur in clusters in the leaf axils.
