Tasmania has
five native species in the conifer family, Podocarpaceae.
These species are very variable in form. All are woody plants that
grow in the well watered regions of Tasmania, but they range from
lowland trees to alpine shrubs. The foliage ranges from flattened,
multi-veined fused stems to flattened leaves, to tiny scales. The
female cones may be fleshy or not, may be cone-like or not. |
