Callitris (Cupressaceae) 1:4 |
|
|
|
Tasmania has
two native species of Callitris. These are both species of
relatively undisturbed, dry, open forests of eastern Tasmania.
Oyster Bay Pine (C. rhomboidea) is a larger and much more
common species, whereas Esk Pine (C. oblonga) is a rare shrub
or small tree. They are both sconifers with conical growth forms and
woody cones. The slender foliage with appressed leaves in whorls of
three is distinctive. |
