Hibbertia
acicularis is a low growing, slender shrub with leaves tapering to a
hard, sharp point. It is reasonably common in sandy soils.
The only species with which it can be confused is the rare
species, H. calycina,
which is only found near St Helens, but that species has sessile
flowers. H. rufa also has
pointed leaves. It is only known from Georges Bay and have a tuft of
hairs at the tip of the leaf.
