Tasmania
has six species of Monotoca. These are largish, erect
shrubs. The venation is conspicuous on the lower surface of the
leaf, and usually comprises several more or less parallel veins with
some minor reticulations between the outer veins.
The species can be hard to distinguish, and the following key
should be treated with caution. The main differences are in leaf
shape, which are distinctive, but hard to describe.
