Lathyrus
is a similar genus to Vicia, except that the stems are
usually strongly angled and the leaves are reduced (sometimes to
phyllodes). Two species of have become naturalised in Tasmania. L.
nissolia (Grass Vetchling) has leaves reduced to long phyllodes.
L. tingitanus (Tangier Pea) has leaves with two leaflets and
a terminal tendril.
