Tylimanthus is a rather showy genus of leafy liverworts
which occupy various epiphytic and terrestrial niches in wet forest
and rainforest. There are three recorded species of Tylimanthus in Tasmania.
The sporophyte develops in a marsupium at the shoot apex.
The status of a few taxa are doubtful (Tylimanthus
perpusillus and T. saccatus) and are not included in the
following key to the species.
