Isotachis is leafy liverwort genus with 4-5
representatives in Tasmania.
Isotachis spp. are found in soil on wet banks near running
water. The shoots are yellowish to reddish or brownish, erect and in
loose turfs. The leaves are concave and are incubous but appear
almost transversely inserted onto the stem. The leaves and
underleaves are shallowly two lobed (in some species the underleaves
may have three lobes) often with smaller side teeth.
A key to the Tasmanian species of Isotachis is being
developed.
