Marsupella is a genus of minute leafy liverworts of which
Tasmania has a single species, M. sparsifolia.
M. sparsifolia is a rare rock-dwelling liverwort of high
altitudes. The shoots of M. sparsifolia are dark red-brown to
black, erect, and borne on leafless stolons. The leaves are crowded
near the apex but distant at the shoot base. The cells contain grey
granular oil bodies.
