Solenostoma is represented by 2 species in Tasmania. These liverworts are
aquatic or semi-aquatic and are usually found on wet ground beside streamsides.
The shoots may be prostrate or erect. The sexual organs are borne
terminally on the erect shoots. These two species were previously under the genus
Jungermannia.
