Telaranea is a morphologically diverse genus of leafy liverworts and in
Tasmania is represented by 18 species.
With the exception of a few species, most Telaranea spp.
are minute prostrate plants found in a variety of habitats.
Diagnostically, the stems of Telaranea spp. have inflated
cells.
The taxonomy of Tasmanian Telaranea are in need of revision.
