Saccogynidium (previously Saccogyna) is a genus of leafy liverworts with a single species,
S. decurvum
documented for Tasmania.
S. decurvum
is a wet forest species. The leaves of S. decurvum has an apical notch and the leaf
surface is papillose. The underleaves are two-lobed. The sporophytes
arise from marsupia (pouch-like structures) buried in the
substratum.
S. decurvum superficially resembles
Plagiochila
radiculosa but the latter species does not have underleaves.
