| Vandiemenia (Metzgeriaceae) |

Vandiemenia is a thallose liverwort represented by a single
species V. ratkowskiana. It was initially placed in it's own
family Vandiemeniaceae, based on a collection of male plants found
on Mt Wellington in the 1980s. A recent re-evaluation of the species
based on a recent collection of female plants around the Hastings
Cave Reserve has shown that the species is better placed within the
Metzgeriaceae.
