Eucalyptus vernicosa (Myrtaceae) 1:219
|
|
Eucalyptus vernicosa
(varnished gum) is closely to
E. johnstonii and
E.
subcrenulata, and has the thick, dark green leaves and yellow-green
bark of this group. However, its habit is distinctive - it is
usually a low growing (sometimes prostrate) alpine or subalpine
shrub. It typically has only one flower per umbel, and often flowers
on the juvenile foliage. It occasionally reaches small tree stature.
