Tasmania has
one native and six introduced species of
Malva (including one native and one introduced species that
were once included in Lavatera). Most are herbs, and
are common on roadsides, in waste areas and in lawns. However, M.
dendromorpha is a large, erect woody plant. The leaves are
largish (3cm diameter or more), more or less round in outline and
are palmately lobed or palmately veined. Most have large coloured
flowers (2cm wide or more), but M. parviflora has white or
pink flowers. |
