In Tasmania, Scleropodium is represented by a single species,
S. australe.
S. australe is an enigmatic species that is known only from a
single specimen collected in the vicinity of the Cascade Brewery,
South Hobart. It resembles closely the common weedy
Pseudoscleropodium purum. However, the shoots of S. australe
curl when dry, a feature not observed in dried specimens of P.
purum.
