Bryum (Bryaceae)

B. argenteum

In Tasmania, Bryum is represented by three species, B. argenteum, B. harriotii and B. subrotundifolium.

These are small turfed mosses, with stems no higher than 5mm. They are also characterized as having tightly overlapping leaves forming what appears to be a cylindrical or catkin-like stem.
