The Climaciaceae in
Tasmania is represented by a single species, Climacium dendroides.
C. dendroides is an uncommon dendroid species with very
few collections in Tasmania. It generally resembles members of
the Hypnodendron but the shoots have a more cylindric
appearance and the stems leaves have rounded apices. Camptochaete
is also similar but the leaves of that genus have very short and faint
nerves and untoothed margins.
