Dicranoloma is an genus of highly conspicuous mosses and in Tasmania is represented by 7 species in Tasmania.

Dicranoloma spp. are extremely common in wet forest to rainforest habitats although some members also occur in high altitude environments.

D. eucamptodontoides is probably the most unusual species of Dicranoloma and seems to be restricted to Buttongrass habitats.

One rainforest species, Holomitrium trichopodum, was previously recognized as a species of Dicranoloma.
