Dicranoloma
billarderi is a common moss with a widespread distribution
in Tasmania. It grows as loose turfs on rocks, logs and trees in wet
forest and rainforest.
It is very similar to D. robustum in habit and appearance
and is most reliably distinguished from this species
microscopically. In the field, D.
billarderi has a more untidy look and the leaves are generally
smaller than D. robustum.
