Distichium (Ditrichaceae)

In Tasmania, Distichium is represented by a single species, D. capillaceum.

D. capillaceum is an almost globally occuring moss. The shoots are strongly flattened in one plane and bear two rows of leaves with sheathing bases. D. capillaceum occurs in turfs on limestone.
