Ischyrodon (Fabroniaceae)

In Tasmania, Ischyrodon is represented by a single species I. lepturus.

I. lepturus is a creeping terrestrial moss of dry areas. Under the microscope, the leaves have large alar cell patches that join with the leaf nerve. It is similar to Brachythecium albicans but is smaller and lacks the plicate leaves of that species.
