Grimmia is a large genus of mosses of which Tasmania
has 9 representatives. These are mostly dense cushion-forming mosses
on rocks, in both urban and native environments. Members of
Grimmia often have leaves with long hyaline hairpoints and
capsules borne on short curved stalks.
