In
Tasmania, Weymouthia is represented by a two different
looking species. Together with Papillaria, this genus of
pendant mosses is an outlier of mosses more typical of tropical
climates.
Weymouthia is quite unmistakable when sighted. The shoots
hang down from twigs and branches forming festoons.
