In Tasmania, the Plagiotheciaceae is a family of mosses represented by
a single species, Plagiothecium lamprostachys (previously
P. denticulatum).
P. lamprostachys is a reasonably common epiphyte in wet
forest and rainforest. Characteristically, the leaves of P. lamprostachys
are asymmetrical and have a short forked nerve. It otherwise
resembles some members of the Brachytheciaceae.
