Acaulon (Pottiaceae)

Acaulon is a moss genus of which Tasmania has a single species, A. integrifolium.

A. integrifolium is a small (~1-2mm high) bulbous ephemeral moss which tends to occur in gregarious clusters on soil. The globular orange-brown capsules are immersed among the leaves but get exposed when they mature.
