In
Tasmania, Pyrrhobryum is represented by 2 species, both of
which were previously included under the genus
Rhizogonium.
These are usually turf-forming mosses of wet forest.
P. mnioides is a relatively common turfed moss. P.
parramattense is usually larger with longer tassel-like shoots.
