Thuidium (Thuidiaceae)

In Tasmania Thuidium is represented by two species, (T. laevisculum and T. sparsum var. hastatum).

Thuidium are weft-forming terrestrial mosses. When examined microscopically, all Thuidium sp. have small leaf-like protuberances called paraphyllia on the stems.
