Tasmania
has two native species of Apocynaceae, and one introduced species.
Parsonsia brownii is a native climber that grows in lowland
wet forests. Alyxia buxifolia is a native, coastal shrub common
in northern Tasmania. Vinca major is a common weedy creeper
distinguished by its largish, entire, opposite leaves and its conspicuous,
purple flowers.
