is native, and two species(Ligustrum vulgare and Fraxinus
angustifolius) have become naturalised. True olives (Olea europaea) are widely cultivated and have
the potential to become a significant pest (as
they are on mainland Australia).
These trees and shrubs have
opposite leaves and small flowers in large, inflorescences. The
flowers have two stamens.
