This
is the olive family, and one species (Notelaea ligustrina)
is native, and two species(Ligustrum vulgare and Fraxinus
angustifolius) have become naturalised. True olives (Olea europaea) are widely cultivated and have
the potential to become a significant pest (as
they are on mainland Australia). These trees and shrubs have
opposite leaves and small flowers in large, inflorescences. The
flowers have two stamens. |
