The
widespread family, Primulaceae, is represented in the Tasmanian flora
by one native and two introduced herbs. Samolus repens, is
a native saltmarsh species with alternate leaves. The other members
of the family in Tasmania are the common weed species with opposite
leaves,
Lysimachia arvensis (pimpernel; formerly known as
Anagallis arvensis) and the garden escape
Lysimachia nummularia.
